Tony Segolo, 4th Dan
Taekwondo and 4th Dan Chunkuhndo, began his training in Scotland
under Master Han Won before moving to Portsmouth in 1987 with the
Royal Navy and meeting Master Iles, where he continued training
under his guidance. Graded 2nd Degree Black Belt in 1992, he
assisted with the teaching of students in Grandmaster Iles’ absence
at Tamar Taekwondo Gosport. Whilst serving in the Royal Navy he was
fortunate enough to train with various Grandmasters and Masters
around the world. On leaving the RN and with the assistance and
guidance of Grandmaster Iles Tony started a Tamar Taekwondo School
in Sprowston, Norwich with only a hand full of students to start
with, it has gone from strength to strength. With numerous students
gaining their Black Belts, Tony’s proudest moment in Taekwondo was
when his Son James gained his Black Belt under Grandmaster Iles.
Tony was promoted to 3rd Dan Chunkuhndo by Great Grandmaster Kim Bok
Man and receiving his 4th Dan in Chunkuhndo in 2004, this was a
great honour to receive it from someone regarded by many as one of
the fathers of Taekwondo. Tony received his 3rd Dan in Taekwondo
from Grandmaster Christopher Chong in 2003 and continued to train
under Grandmaster Iles, receiving his 4th Dan Master Grade Taekwondo
in June 2006,
